Go up thou bald-head?

Here's the deal: Brad got a haircut. Mistake #1. The longish look was WORKING! Mistake #2: He didn't have his Mom cut his hair! What was he thinking? So I came home from work today
( today is his day off) and he was wearing a SHIRT on his head and cringing before me.

The decision lies before us: To shave or not to shave? We are posting a picture of him sporting this new cut and we desire YOUR input as to whether he should suffer through it or take the plunge and shave it ALL OFF ( which he has long wanted and threatened to do). I am ambivalent: at this point there's really no good outcome so why not let him have his little fun? I would be okay with this cut if he gelled it up and let it be sort of bed-heady and trendy but he is determined to comb it over like an old geezer and then his cow-lick sticks up on the side and RUINS it all.

(As soon as I experimented with the gel on his hair he sort of gave this little shudder of suffering and exclaimed that it was a "liberal" look. I don't really know what that means except that it's not conservative and I know that he resists change and eschews fads and trendiness. )

So we are sort of on the proverbial fence with this one. I have no idea what he would look like with a shaved head! Will NO HAIR look worse than BAD HAIR?

LOL! This is hilarious. Um, I don't think Brad is cut out to be a Yul Brynner. I'd say use a little gel (it doesn't have to be trendy) and work with it till it grows out a bit. Or maybe go to a different barber and see if they can repair what the locust hath taken. But if you do shave it off, be sure to post a picture!

Oh, my. Dad says just leave it- it will grow out!

I am afraid I couldn't repair that! Sorry! As to the bald look? I don't think that would be an improvement!

Keep us posted!

To answer your final question in a word: YES.

Be brave! Shave it off and start over!!

So--who cut it? I vote for baldness since you have an excuse and it will always grow back...Keep us posted.

I personally LOVE the bed-heady, modern, LIBERAL, non-geezer gelled look. Chris started doing this recently, and it looks great! I would be very curious to see Brad bald. He doesn't SEEM to have a head shaped so funky you'd run screaming if there was no hair to cover it up. He could try it once...

I have to admit that I like the trendy look. Keep it for our trip to GA and if it's still not working, shave it off when we get home. We mustn't scare the southerners with your bald head, Brad!

Brad!

It looks terrific! Definitely KEEP IT. It really honestly
doesn't look overly trendy, and liberal? Why would that be necessarily a liberal look?:) Anyway, you don't have to use hair gel...that's my vote, folks

I also agree with Penny's wise advice. Don't scare the Southerners...trust me. It might look cool, once you do it, but once you reveal your accent, it also might make you look a LIBERAL northerner. sooo...guess you can't win:))

When I told Mrs. L. about your hair, Brad, and told her you were considering shaving it off, she said, "He's such a good looking fellow, why would he want to do such a thing?"

The thing is- this picture is rather misleading. This was taken after I had attempted to work some magic with the hair gel...and then he combed it out straight...and I mussed it up again...and...you get the idea. SO in my opinion, it doesn't look THAT bad in the picture...I think he decided to post THIS picture BECAUSE it didn't look too bad of him!! There were OTHERS that I took that gave a more accurate representation of the haircut...but he didn't like them...BECAUSE HE LOOKED BAD IN THEM...???!!! Sigh. Groan.

I am currently awaiting his return from work...wondering whether he shaved it off after I left this morning...

Here's my two cents:

I think letting him shave it all off is definitely a risk because what if you hate it that way ten times more than this way??? You'll never know until it happens. And if you hate the bald look, it will take three times as long for it to grow back to "tolerable" than if you just start letting it grow now.

Another thought: Why doesn't he alternate the way he combs each day, and keep a tally of how many sales he makes at Ritz with the different styles? Then we'll see whether people like to buy from a conservative, trusted soul who combs his hair over and has an upright cowlick, or from a liberal, trendy, finger-in-the-light-
socket-gelled-that-way person! We can turn it into a sociological experiment! We should start taking bets!

I have one word for you:

depilatories

and plenty of it!

I can almost picture Brad with no hair (especially with the advent of the spiffy goatee) and would be inclined to say "GO for it," except for the subsequent lurking horrors should he decide to have hair again someday. First the peach fuzz, then the ten-year-old spikey buzz cut, then the almost-able-to-plaster-it-down-but-not-quite awkwardness. It would be months before he'd be able to do the geezer look again, so I say he bows to Claire's gel filled hands now while there's still a ray of hope.

Leave it. Unless you are willing for a complete change Claire. Cause once you shave it, you can't go back. It is an irrevocable decision.

Shave it. By all means do.

I say keep it. This picture makes it look good so I couldn't really say.

shave it into a mohawk!

You'll never know unless you shave it. And if you don't like it, it will be back to the trendy length in just a few months.

OK!!

Enough already. The suspense is KILLING me.
What did you decide to do!??

You could try cutting the top shorter...not shaving it but shorter... could look good. Than gel it:) Gel's cool... as long as you're a conservative at heart... and don't "let the look go to your head" Brad you'll be ok:)
