Steak or a cheeseburger?

If someone has been feasting on the fat of the land for twenty years, what posesses them to abandon that way of life? I really want to know. What makes someone who has been served steak and caviar on silver platters for dinner every night suddenly decide that henceforth and forevermore it's a good idea to plan on running down the street to the local fastfood joint to get a cheeseburger instead?

If you were invited to the White House every morning for breakfast with the President- and lived near enough to drive there, or were provided with a helicopter to get there- would you sleep in on a regular basis and say, " Oh, I guess it doesn't matter. I'll find some other way to feed myself..." or better yet, " I guess I just won't eat today..." WELL???

Come on, people! It's time to wake up and smell reality! I'm not going to explain my little foody parables; if it's not blatantly obvious what I'm talking about, then just forget it and move on to the next blog.

AMEN! I'll take the steak every time! And by God's grace, I hope to avoid the cheeseburger. (I'm not particularly fond of cheeseburgers anyway.) I sure have been thinking in similar paths recently!

Been nibbling on cheeseburgers myself lately, but ready for some STEAK! Good thing that the Lord knows how to spread a table in the wilderness.

Oh yes, learning it's my responsibility to show up for dinner, pick up that fork, and start eating! Otherwise, how hungry will I be?

Sigh. Glad He's patient.

Personally, I'll take a cheeseburger over caviar any day! (Speaking in a literal sense here.)

Ahh..but spare a thought for Daniel who would shun both, and would not eat the king's rich foods! Now what to do?
Dear me...the black and white has become grey!

Or what about those who have been told that what they are eating is steak, when in fact it is tofu? In that case, I think they'd be perfectly justified in running down to McD's - but they'd also be better off if they bypassed McD's altogether and went straight to a steakhouse.

There's a great reference book for every kind of possible food - what it does to you, how much to eat, where to find it. Written by the Master Chef!

I gave up eating breakfast with the President for Lent. It just didn't seem right to be feasting every morning during this season of withdrawal and repentance.
