Whatever...

I never dreamed that all my whining would garner so much sympathy. Thanks for all the kind words and support. But I think it's time that I put up something else. Anything else. So here goes...

--Garner. Now, isn't that a good word?

--The latest offerings from our neighbors: fried catfish and tater tots. Combined with my tasty brussel sprouts and we had a fine dinner tonight. Who needs ravens to bring you food when you have neighbors who share? I think I'm going to give up cooking completely.

--Right now I'm reading Terry Waite's memoir; he was held hostage in Lebanon during the '80s. And I'm also reading "When Character Was King" by PeggyNoonan, and "The Professor and the Madman; A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary." Two of these books are due today at the library. And it's almost midnight. Think I should call to renew them?

-- I planted purple creeping phlox under the mailbox.

And this concludes our broadcast day.

sounds like you're happier:) Hey you got new glasses too:) Could you post a pic of them? I was delighted to see your comment about glasses on my blog.

I don't hardly notice the sign thing much anymore.... maybe that's true that since it's, the lense, is farther from your eye it's harder to see...(than with contacts)

I do wonder if my glasses are stong enough... oh well at least I can see and they're new:)

Also, as you are, I'm in a number of books. Right now the one I'm "reallly" reading is "Through Gates of Splendor." IT's a good book, about Jim Elliot, Nate Saint and 3 other guys that were missionaries and were killed by the tribe they wanted to share Jesus with...you've probably heard about the story, it's writtin by Elizabeth Elliot.

the other book/books I"m reading, I'm not as into right now:) If things aren't as good as I assumed, I hope and pray they get better... new days come...:)

hey claire, sorry this is not a comment aimed at answering or having anything to do with your blog. I'm trying to get a hold of Brad. I emailed him but I haven't gotten a reply, so I was wondering if I have his latest email addy. This is clyde s. by the way. If he could email me his latest email addy to my email address I would greatly appreciate it, or if he did get my email, I'd be most appreciative if he could reply to it. Thanks so much!!

About renewing on line - yes, we can - I just did it! We do enjoy having an awesome county library system here. I can even reserve books on line, and they will appear at the branch closet to me. Three cheers for the Pines Libary system!
